Death proof

DEATH PROOF

LIGHTING:

  • Very light
  • Scene filmed in the 'day time'.
  • No real darkness used.
  • Artificial light used to light up the women however so we could see her.

CAMERA WORK:

  •   Usually medium shots and medium close ups but there are a few long shots in this scene.
  •    Never really see who the main female is or her friends.
  •    Point of view shots used as well.

MUSIC:

  • Non Dietetic sound track throughout
  • Western type of music.
  • Not sinister or thriller type of music.
  • Doesn't get louder or quieter, stays consistent.

This is the opening scene to the film 'Death proof''. Despite the opening scene this is in fact a thriller. The audience is not omniscience because the characters and audience don't no anything as their are no real clues, so the viewers cannot predict anything.
From the opening scene this is not an obvious thriller but later juxtaposes this belief. Point of view shots are aiming to make us the characters, making us real relaxed and feeling at no trouble at all or harm.
Point of view shot, showing us the scene.
