Idea 1
Idea 1:
Forgotten
Our story is basically about a psychopath male who kills his wife and kid but has forgotten or can't remember he has done it despite being spotted with blood on his hands at the crime scene. He has flash backs of doing it and killing his family. The character Jonny is in serious denial and refuses to believe he killed his beloved family. Our filming will be however giving clues away instead of keeping things from the audience. This is because we wanted to attract the viewers attention early and keep them on the edge of the seat. However the viewers will not know that the character is a psychopath whilst being interviewed.

Insight
Insight
Ziaul Islam
Music:
- Non diegetic music going throughout
- Non crescendo, gets quieter
- Dialogue
- Door slamming - diegetic sound
Camerawork:
- Close ups and mid shots to show the facial expression of the two characters
- Over the shoulder shot used a lot in the dialogue
- Point of view shot at 1 minutes 46 seconds, makes us feel like we're spying in or listening in
- Shaking camera at 2.56 makes it as though the characters mind is being taken over (big close up)
Mise en scene:
- The position of the characters are opposite to each other
- Cuts are common in the scene because of reaction shots and facial expressions of the characters
- Casual clothing
Editing:
- The pace of this scene is slow, not what you'd be expecting in thrillers
- Main cuts are to show the reaction of each other, mainly with OTS shots.
Black Swan
Black Swan
Lighting:
- Very dark
- Only one piece of lighting, the spot light. Used to see the character.
The lighting is used intelligently because the scene is very dark and fairly mysterious. We do not know where she is but can assume she is on some sort of stage.
Mise en scene:
- Female is wearing a ballet dress showing that she might be innocent
- No other props used
- Opposing man visually intimidating
Sound:
- Opera type of music.
- Cresendo
- Appropriate for the scene
- Diegetic music, character can hear it
Another opening scene which confuses the audience like most thriller openings. What makes this a good opening is that it doesn't seem like a thriller because it not intense and doesn't leave us on the edge of our seats. Instead it is a calm opening scene.

Death proof
DEATH PROOF
LIGHTING:
- Very light
- Scene filmed in the 'day time'.
- No real darkness used.
- Artificial light used to light up the women however so we could see her.
CAMERA WORK:
- Usually medium shots and medium close ups but there are a few long shots in this scene.
- Never really see who the main female is or her friends.
- Point of view shots used as well.
MUSIC:
- Non Dietetic sound track throughout
- Western type of music.
- Not sinister or thriller type of music.
- Doesn't get louder or quieter, stays consistent.
This is the opening scene to the film 'Death proof''. Despite the opening scene this is in fact a thriller. The audience is not omniscience because the characters and audience don't no anything as their are no real clues, so the viewers cannot predict anything.
From the opening scene this is not an obvious thriller but later juxtaposes this belief. Point of view shots are aiming to make us the characters, making us real relaxed and feeling at no trouble at all or harm.
